Screw page rank, screw backlinks, yes… seriously Screw Even Google… let’s go back to what matters…. let’s talk about people.

How SEO Has Changed during 2012

August 23, 2012  |  SEO for Small Business  |  Share

When it comes to Google updates, even small changes can have a massive effect. SEO lives and breathes by the Google algorithms, such is it’s dominance of the search market.

These changes are done, we are assured, to help improve Google search engine results. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t. But what you can be sure of, is that every time the algorithm changes, the goal posts for those using SEO have moved. Read More

Negative SEO: Let’s talk about it, shall we?

August 14, 2012  |  SEO Basics  |  Share

OK… so finally I have decided to talk about NEGATIVE SEO and I bet as soon as this gets published I will get comments and emails that will tell me: GAB GAB GAB YOU ARE WRONG… Negative SEO doesn’t exist mate…

Well… here we go:
If there is one thing that you can rely on in the SEO game, it’s for Google to not only pull the rug from under you, but also to change the furniture whilst you’re at it. For the most part that is understandable – it’s their job to get the search engine results they want, and it’s our job to get the ones we want.

But that doesn’t mean that every update they do is a good idea for users or SEO practitioners alike. And the latest raft of changes to the SEO environment rather stress that point for us. They went gave the elephant in the room tusks.

July 20, 2012  |  SEO for Small Business  |  Share

We all talk recently about Google hating sites, about Google penalizing sites.. but what if is not Google, but it’s you.

What if your site sucks….. and Google has no option to NOT rank your site.

Well this week I had a new customer and the 1st step we did was to switch the site. We convert the site from an ugly frontpage site to a WordPress site, we optimize the site, we did some very soft link building and …. and … voila.
