Read More1 week ago I fired my best paying client. I was making over 45K per year just from this client. Overall… this was a BIG fish, the type of client people tell you: you need to get it and lock if for life!
But I fired them. I quit. I decided it was time to go… and that my life was going to be better WITHOUT them, instead of them…. but to understand why I decided to say said bye bye to $45000 extra per year, I needed to go back to basics.
SEO for kids 2012… what a fantastic success. So yes, I’m back from Fiji after a week where crazy things happened in the SEO world. But let me get straight to the topic and let’s forget any news or updates of Evil Google 
. So as many of you know we raised over $1000 and with the great help of a lot of amazing people we brought over 25 kilos of pencils, coloring books, geometry sets, pencils, rules… and 2 nice laptops and a brand new printer to the kids of Nawaka District School.
I made this video after so many emails and messages that came from my Mixergy Interview. The whole idea is to address fear of failure…. so…. here we go:
I started SEO as a part thing… mainly trying to feed the family after I quickly realized my job as a diving instructor wasn’t going to pay for … mmm…. food .
The day that I decided to quit my diving job, my wife sat on the Kitchen and cried. She really cried. I was making $500 per week and it was scary to “loose” that money. It wasn’t fun times let me tell you.
Hey! I have an idea, what about If I take down Yellow Pages.com.au ?
Seriously… just me, from home, here in my home office looking at my garden. What about If I take down YellowPages by producing something so freaking amazing that anyone that looks at YellowPages thinks… mmm Gab’s stuff is better.
So let me do quick brainstorming and analyse why Yellowpages.com.au sucks.
1. Corporate look, boring user experience.
2. The info provided by Yellowpages is mainly one thing. DATA.
Last month was my biggest month ever from a financial point of view. You see my wife is a Nurse Manager making a nice salary, well last month my tiny (microscopic ) business made in 3 weeks the equivalent of 7 months of my wife’s salary.
CRAZY.
Am I bragging?
No. I don’t brag. But I want to share… you see, I don’t blog about making money online…. but I think people out there that try to hire an SEO company or an SEO consultant, forget the basic principles about making money online.. (and how the people that really make money online really do it.)

So I’m taking a small break for 6 weeks. No more SEO chat. No more talking about links and about ranking. No more talking about what “really works” .
Instead time to go to the beach, watch Sebastian in Tennis lessons (my 6 year old … next Australian Champion) and take Dominic (my 2 year old son) to our local swimming pool.
