I love SEO… but I’m not stupid

I usually hate to talk about my success in the internet marketing world… but this time… I’m ready for a lovely rant.

It seems that “the nation” of the Internet, consider every single internet marketing product as … “oh my god, not another scam”.

The funny thing is that 95% of that people that are fast to point their fingers to the “scams”… usually don’t make money online, and have very little idea of how to REALLY make money online.

Once people see a “sales letter” or a “click now”  “BUY NOW” or a “one time offer” they quickly go running to forums crying… “Oh my god… be careful I just saw a SCAM”.

And that’ss why…. my friends…….. that’s why people will never learn.

Internet Marketing Products, from video courses to software, from Reports to ebooks… are what they are:  PRODUCTS… and these products are usually being SOLD by Internet Marketers… by people that understand how people buy and why people buy.

Internet Marketing is related to one thing : SALES.

So why are you so scared of people selling you stuff?

You go out there and buy Poison-Coca Cola every day and eat crap burgers in McDonalds but you don’t complain… but once someone tries to sell you INFORMATION , you see to start crying scared of people “scamming you”.

Do you really think that every single Internet Marketing Product is a SCAM?

Come on… wake up…

But before you write a comment, telling me how WRONG I AM… let me clarify some points.

Off course there are many “dodgy people out there”… but at the end of the day you need to understand one thing: There is no Bible about making money online. There is no one university or a title that Teaches you Internet Marketing, Online Revenue Strategies or even SEO…
because at the end of the day there is not even a legal authority that can actually provide you with advice and help regarding online business generation.

So if you don’t invest money in LEARNING… if you don’t take your BUSINESS SERIOUS … how are you going to achieve the traffic and the income from your online venture?

Last year I spend over 5K in courses, materials, software, reports and tutorials. Before you scream…. let me tell you: $5000 is nothing compared to the amount of prodcuts I wanted to buy…

Was the 5K worth the investment? You bet.

Why? Thanks to what I learned I have recovered my money at least 20 times…. yep… you do the maths.

That’s why every month I make more money than the month before… because I invest in my own development. I invest money in Learning from people that have achieved success in different areas in the online marketing world.

So what’s the lesson to learn?

Be smart… try to learn as much as possible from every single point of view.

SEO is great… but is not the only theory / strategy or system out there.

I love SEO… but I’m not stupid… if SEO stop working in 10, 12 years… I Need to have a plan B.

So what’s your PLAN B?

I seriously believe, that If you really want to win in this  game you need to learn as much as possible…. go out there and learn about viral marketing, ppc, ppv, CPA offers, landing pages, affiliate marketing, social media, list building, copy writing, and conventional offline marketing.

If a product can TEACH YOU something NEW… my advise is BUY IT

You are the only one that is in charge of your own training and learning. The less you learn… the more your competition learns and BELIEVE ME, one day they will be ahead of you.

So next time you claim that a product is a SCAM… do the research… investigate a bit more… and ask yourself this:

Why If I could Learn just 1 thing that could increase my business?
What if I could open my mind to a new possibility of traffic, income, revenue and customers?

But hey… may be I’m wrong… may be Internet Marketers are just a gang of horrible people, living in caves, making plans to take the world… and in the process, steal the numbers of your credit card.

Rant off. Going to bed. :) Enjoy

mmm what’s next? the Internet is Evil also? ;)

Because the internet is full of scams, at one point people start to question everything. And it is not a bad idea to do that. But not everything is a scam. Actually most things are not. It is just some people trying to make some money. It is easy to determine which is which. Just use google and search a little bit before for the product. If anybody anywhere was scammed by the product, you will find it very easy in google.
About the second part of the article I can only say that there are soooo many ways to make money online. It is good to look around and investigate new strategies and new ways. Keep an eye on things. But do not do everything, just have things in mind. Focus on 1 – 2 things you think are the best for you.

    Hi Jo

thanks for your comment… I have to say, that I’m a bit amazed that you are in the “social media” industry, and post a comment like this.

I mean… “Hello, I enjoy your content…. and thanks” is the typical spam-comment that I get from all my spamming friends in Nigeria, Russia and India…

    Anyway, thanks for stopping bye

    Hi Gab,

Appreciate where you are coming from with this, but I think the biggest issue is the fact that so many so called “internet marketers” all make themselves look dodgey buy how they portray themselves.

I’ve actually posted an article on my blog with a different slant on this to yours. Hope you don’t mind me dropping a link, just thought you or others might find it a good read (on a side note, hopefully my blog is working for you now, seems to be fine for everyone else that I could get to check it and haven’t worked out the issue yet). By the way please don’t take any of my post in any bad way, it’s not aimed at you I promise!

    Hi Matt
I read your blog mate (still I can’t see the template)

I understand your point… and why you may hate clickbank or other “revenue” systems.

I think that is the difference between many internet companies and me… I’m an SEO consultant that comes from internet marketing. I have 300 of my own sites. The 300 sites generate revenue… and because all my sites rank in top position, THAT’S why I work as an SEO consultant. I apply what works for my network.

I believe people’s hate for blueprint is because they usually believe things are just a SCAM and for sure… why will you REVEAL a system if you are making so much money..?

The answer is easy: people are lazy . People don’t want to do the job, people in FACT will not do the job.

Trust me: someone that creates a blueprint with 25 hours of video, creates a sales page, offers support, create 25 lesson reports for each video.. mm is a real interent marketer because is in fact creating something, producing something and sell it: that’s what Internet Marketing is all about…. make a product, market the product and sell it.

Is easier to complain, and pointing the finger, than trying to create your own product and give it a go … ;)

But, the good thing is that we think different… diversity is vital in this industry :D

    Hi Gab,

Thanks for reading, and I really do see your point I promise! I guess the difficulty I have is that at least to me it’s hard to tell the scammers from those with legit good ideas. Because there is no doubt there are good products, but the tactics and marketing styles used are the same as most actual spammers. And the fact that there are definitely some products out there which are basically borderline pyramid schemes – ie the only way to make money is to get more people on board with the product.

And I also find how they market the products as well, really tacky basically. Maybe it’s just because it works, but I still haven’t been able to work out why the testimonials need to be in Courier New for example…. it’s just bizarre to me.

I actually have purchased I think 3 SEO tools that I really like that are marketed this way, but it’s always been with a great deal of hesitation and fear of being scammed – but in 2/3 of cases actually was good stuff. Two other tools I’ve purchased that are marketed in more traditional ways I didn’t hesitate in the same way, both I could get (crippled) trail versions first which provides confidence – there isn’t that same secrecy that makes you wonder “if I knew exactly what it was, maybe I wouldn’t be interested”.

I always do wonder if it’s the passion and effort some people put into affiliate marketing was put in but the focus changed if the success would be more or less? Or if it would only be who the customers were that changed?

Anyway, enjoying seeing another side to the story to learn from.

Think about it, nobody succeed in the business without any investment at all. People who plan to start anything need to have at least little to huge amount of investment. All depends on there venture. To avoid from getting scammed, why not consider doing some research first before investing into something. Find useful reviews which can help you decide.
