Hi Gabriel,
This made me laugh. So true. In fact, I’ve had a few cold calls lately from so called Internet marketing companies here in OZ saying they can get my website on the front page of Google. Idiots didn’t even look to see that see my website is already on the front page of G for my highest commercial intent keywords. Honestly!

Hi Gabriel
as I am in the SEO industry this is a BIG ouch for me… lol. Good movie, but at the same time, I do believe there are the few companies out there that do a great job and achieve their goals and the goals of their clients.
Content is king

Hey guys… sorry if the comment hurt.

Thanks for stopping and commenting.

Good effort that you put there. But still how are you different from the big SEO company? Also, thanks for sharing the xtranormal text-to-video app, it’s really cool.

The difference between me and an SEO company?
Mmm .. good question.
I guess I don’t try to find SEO clients… they usually find me when I outrank them with my own niche sites.
And I guess if you call me to my “office” you here Dora the Explorer in the Background… and my kids playing or fighting…
mmm not very professional.

While I agree in principal that there are a lot of so called ‘experts’ out there, seo is not rocket science. However, for the average Joe out there with a small website, it might as well be. What I don’t agree with mostly in the seo world is the grossly high charges people are paying for a ‘service’ and it is true that people in the seo business sounds as if they’re full of crap but it is really no different to any other industry though. there’s lingo in all professions and ours comes with its own set. the key I think is don’t be a jerk, cocky and spin crap to your clients and just tell them how it is and what is realistic to expect from your service.

Interesting point of view… the difference Andrew is
a) my wife is a nurse… she is an expert. She has a title. She needs to have a title to work in a hospital. The hospital has regulations to hire nurses. to become a nurse you need to follow a program.
With SEO.. mmm… well, go out there, register a domain name, put a logo… and voila! you are an SEO company mate.
Ahhh and don’t forget… get a skype number in new York. LOL !
thanks for stopping by

while its true what you say about nursing, we are not talking about the same thing here. Just because you form an seo ‘company’ doesn’t mean you will last in the biz unless you know what you are talking about and can prove what you can do in seo. Anyone can go out there and put a cleaning business together but unless they can actually deliver a good cleaning service, they wont last. Something like nursing is a science, seo is not. You just need to know what you are doing and generally, like any business, research, study and a lot of hard work is what’s needed.

The name of your company is the Expert SEO company. So you are an Expert in SEO and a company
In the same way my site is Internet Ninja and clearly if you see my moves… I’m a Ninja . ^_^

he he he , silly silly Andrew. Clearly, I dont know your sense of humour or your ninja moves…I think I’ll rewatch all the Buffy episodes and get some hints on karate techniques.

Funny video! Well done, Gabriel! SEO Companies suck big times, treating you like some sort of bimbo and overcharged prices on simple services. But whats wrong having a Skype number in New York? LOL! Well, at some stage you need to expand…

Welcome to the site John…. sorry to hear that you found the cowboys of the SEO industry
… some SEO companies are just like that… 100% talk… 100% nothing more.
[Reply]
There seems to be more cowboys than legitimate SEOs, from my experience. It’s a shame, because it creates a lack of trust in the industry.

I think some tips to pass SEO interview are: “before you do a face to face interview, you must study first about that company. Know the company service. Study the SEO services provided by the company. Track some overview for your work which you handled regularly. Prepare 4-5 different points in SEO which shows you are different from others. Before reaching in interview have a look for latest update in all search engines. Make your habit to study a blog for SEO on daily basis.” But what I heard on the video is an absolutely true.

Clearly you didn’t
a) Watch the video
b) Realized it was a joke
Sorry you didn’t get a backlink from this post

Good video. I can definitely relate to it. The following isn’t a joke though. Been happening more and more. I have just recently started running into a situation where my existing clients are getting phone calls from SEO firms all over the place telling them that whoever is doing their SEO is employing black hat tactics and they will eventually suffer the same fate as J.C. Penny did. Now I am as white hat as is gets in my SEO, but it just goes to show you the lengths companies will go to in getting clients. Baseless scare tactics. I’ve actually had to call my clients and explain to them what is going on with this. I tell them they are talking to a telemarketer who is simply using a recent news even to try to scare them into switching SEO firms. I deal only with companies in my local area and meet with all my clients face-to-face at least once a month. That relationship building helps me keep clients for extended periods of time. I guess it’s only going to get worse as SEO to a business owner is basically a foreign language.

hi Charles, thanks for stopping bye.
I love the fact you mention the importance of building a long term relation with your customers. That’s the way to go for it. Stop the fear campaign, speak plain English and provide results.
i wonder why so many SEO companies get it so wrong
[Reply]
Omg…we’ll we can only hope that there is no-one out there saying this kind of stuff. I think if anyone watches this video and their SEO consultant pretty much says the opposite to this guy on the video, you should be pretty safe that you’re not getting b..s..ed.

What a great video, it really highlights the difficulty that many businesses are having. I’m a marketing consultant looking after a small set of clients in Perth and I’ve also come across some very strange so called ‘SEO’ experts that can not be trusted. I think the safest thing to do from a client’s point of view is to watch the results and the reports that you’re getting from your SEO company. A good indication of something dodgy going on is different keywords that are reported on every month, no additional sales or enquries to your business and a lack of communication from your SEO company. It’s a bit scary out there at the moment but one can only hope that with time the cowboys in the industry will disappear and the honest guys will be there for good.
