So I achieved first position in Google
So I realized last week I achieved 1st position in Google for the keyword SEO Consultant… and I guess I should claim: Check it out! I’m the best SEO marketer in the world… look how amazing I am, I’m first in Google for the exact keyword I want to rank. But the reality is: It wasn’t so difficult, indeed I’m pretty sure many SEO companies out there are not even trying to rank for this keyword.
So what did I learn from this “ranking” experiment
a) If you are not ranking for a keyword is because you are not doing the effort.
b) Any SEO company that pays for PPC for any SEO term… well, it means they can’t even rank for their own keywords… therefor it will be difficult to justify and prove their own skills.
c) Any ranking effort needs to have a proper strategy. Link building should have a proper time line… and clear objective. Otherwise measuring success is difficult. (just like any diet or weight loss program)
d) It feels nice to be 1st.

Is this on Google.com.au?

Congratulations on your achievement down under mate!!
It’s been more difficult to rank for both “seo specialist/s” at the same time & get to first page for SEO consultant/s also, it is taking some work to rank for all terms at the same time here in the U.K.
I’ll let you know when i get there..

Well done Gabriel, also just check in .com.au and your still there.
Its a good achievement, if you can do it for this search term you can do it for most (just takes more effort)
As we both know it is ranking highly for multiple search terms that generates traffic, but is still a good selling point if you want it to be.
