Some SEO companies will never FREAKING learn

Princes Park Motor Inn, please, pretty please, stop link spamming my wordpress sites… pretty please.

Understanding Spam it’s important.

Specially after Penguin, and after Panda. That’s why when I receive Spam I always wonder to research a bit more…
who is behind? and even more important is the web owner even aware their SEO company is spamming?

So when I get several spam comments like

Melbourne also has a rich multicultural mix. Almost a quarter of Victoria’s population was born overseas, and the city of roughly 4 million people is home to residents from 233 countries, who speak over 180 languages and dialects. Melbourne contains the fourth largest population of Greeks in the world and it also has Australia’s second largest Asian population. That’s why you can found everywhere accommodation in Melbourne .

THEN I have to research….

And here we go… here is how you can do SPAM TRACKING fast without any software

Easy Google the name of the user + keyword. the reason… spammers usually use the same name.

In this case: JennyChavez + Melbourne

With… mmm yes forum spam

Great link building don’ you think? specially post penguin… the ironic thing is that I bet the Princes Park Motor Inn, must be paying some great $$$ to a so-called SEO company to get them QUALITY links and then… obviously this happen. They appear in a blog, where instead of showcasing for quality, they are featured for SEO mediocrity.

I could literally post tons and tons of crappy links their SEO company is getting for them… but hey! what’s the point?

The point is that IT DOESN’T WORK!!!!!!!!!

Why?

Let’s see rankings shall we?

accommodation in Melbourne 14
accommodation Melbourne 71
cheap hotel in Melbourne 21
hotel in Melbourne 42
hotel Melbourne N/a
Melbourne Accommodation 48

So is it worth it to SPAM for such crappy ranks?

Don’t know …. you tell me MR SEO AGENCY. May be time to get serious and ask your link builders in Pakistan not to spam SEO blogs? ;) (not a good move)

  1. Hey found this website on flying solo when trying to do research about domain names/urls. Pretty helpful site and I’m slowly working through your articles here.

I have a quick question and would really appreciate it if you could provide your opinion:

Does it adversely effect SEO rankings if a domain name made up of 2 words, drops one letter? i.e.- I am about to register http://www.airportransfer.com.au. My target market is people searching for airport transfers of course, but many variations of airporttransfer.com.au etc have already been snapped up.

I’d really appreciate any thoughts you have on the matter. From those in the industry that I’ve asked I’ve gotten mixed feedback.

    Thanks!

    Hi Sherlock
exact domain names used to have more SEO power than now a days….
having the keywords will help, but it’s more about creating an authority site rather than 1 site that just target 1 or 2 keywords….
the era of targeting 1 keyword only it’s all gone now….

  2. Thanks for the input mate.

I think that said, a shorter, easier to remember domain name might beat out one aimed at (outdated?) SEO optimization.

    Cheers

  3. Hola Gabriel

I love your writing style, very sarcastic. But most of all I love your posts and lessons. This particular one showing “what not to do” should be chiselled in stone in many companies walls, not only SEO agencies, but also large organisations who pride themselves of being a leader in the digital realm.

Unfortunately I have seen some cases – although not too many – in which a company spams and obtains a high rank in organic search results. Are these two factors connected? I am not very sure, but probably other people think so, as it seems agencies keep working this way.

Are you aware of any easy-to-read information – such as an infographic – explaining how Penguin and Panda updates work?

    Gracias. Thank you

  4. Great post! Very interesting to read the way you worded it. On a higher note, I too have received spammy comments, but in addition to the “comment” appearing spammy, their site always leads to a domain that isn’t even set up; it’s more like a “search” page…..how can I stop these as well, any idea?

  5. Hey Gabriel, nice write up. I often come across comments like that reading other forums boards. Along with the other attempted link building ones “thank you for posting the information, it is interesting to me”.

Could be a way to pickup work for you though.. Did you ever contact ‘princess park’? I’m sure if they are paying a company for their SEO and that is what they are receiving they’d be happy to hear from you – and about your alternative SEO offering!

  6. Gabriel although the post is nice but Targeting only one country does not make sense you are a Professional SEO Consultant and i do not think so that you should be pointing only one country as there are many emails too i get in my junk folder from other countries that claims to offer the most cheap SEO Services but any way i am your reader from Pakistan too and i respect you for your work but being Racist is not Cool at all! :-/

Rafay, I understand your points but Pakistan or India have zero rules regarding email marketing. In fact you guys send more emails about SEO that any other country in the world. You have no regulation about spam or any way to police the amount of emails. I get daily around 25 emails from Indian companies… vs one email from Australia. The reason? We are not allowed to do that here, we have some rules, we have some sort of industry standards that at least we try to respect.
Although you may think I’m being racist, I’m not, I’m being realistic, I’m being critical .
Sorry if it offended you but you live in one of the top 12 spamming countries in the world mate,
