Using SEO for a higher Good

Bula my small tiny audience… I’m in Fiji at the moment… having the time of my life with my kids and wife. Life is good.. the SEO business is booooooming and I’m starting to learn the importance of having a proper work-life balance.

Fiji it’s great. I have been here already 5 times and I can’t get enough of the people, the culture, the weather.. the way the time goes slower than ever.

But today was a special day… today we went to a local village school and gave away some school supplies to the teachers to give away to the local kids.

To be honest we couldn’t afford to bring a lot mainly based on weight restrictions. We are still traveling with a 18 month old big baby boy… that requires a lot of nappies, toys, baby clothes, that require quiet a lot of space and weight.

So we brought 2 bags and that 2 bags provided simply the best day of my life.

Many of the kids from this local school… didn’t have pencils… coloring books, etc… so by us providing just a tiny-bit of help, we managed to just bring a bit of happiness to so many kids in the school.

So I have now a new task… to use my SEO skills, my internet marketing business to help this school.

This small school is not my local universe… and my main goal to improve some kids life.

For sure I don’t have the power to improve their life forever, but there is no reason why I can’t start from today, using some of my sites to provide enough funds to sponsor the kids from this school to have their own pencils, colors, erasers, rules, etc.

Although 300 kids it’s quiet a challenge… I realized today that it only makes a difference when we start DOING SOMETHING.

Don’t get me wrong… I will love to help the people in Japan, or the starving people in Africa… but I want to start with something where I CAN SEE how my effort makes a difference.

Do I have the funds to do this?

May be.

If I don’t…. I will find the funds required.

It’s all about the power of decision…. the hunger of doing something… the energy to work harder and to be able to make one single meaningful difference.

Soon I will launch a new site, where I will offer a pretty unique SEO service, where all the profits of this service will go to my Fiji School Project ;)

In the Photo my son Sebastian with the Fiji School kids happy… always smiling .

HI Gab. Great post! Wow, I fully agree with what you say. It is so important to go out there and make a difference! I support a little girl from Bolivia myself, and even though, my contributions have been little, I am sure it’s changed the girls life. I hope one day I can make some money with SEO or internet marketing, so I will be able to reach out to other projects! Enjoy Fiji! Cheers, Chris

This is great. My goal with my websites is to eventually be able to live of my earnings and give away whatever I can spare to people who needs the money more. It seems that we both care for children. Ever since I got a little brother I realised how important it is to protect them and try our hardest to give them a chance in life.

These kids that you are helping really needs it and it’s great that you take time helping them as much as you can.

I will share this post on a few websites to help you inspire more people. Take care!

Hi, Gab. I hope you are having a good time. Enjoy it at full! As I see, this trip turned out to be the most important in your life – it has changed SOMETHING. I know what you feel – it happened to me a few years ago when I decided not to struggle for peace in the whole world, I simply decided to help my poor (in the direct meaning of this word) neighbour and his 5 children. It’s much better to help a few than to worry (only worry) about the whole world!
You’ve made the right choice! I’m waiting for your new site!

I think this is a wonderful way to focus your skills into doing something to help others. I too started something of this sort around a year ago by dedicating the earnings from a few blogs in my network to a local NGO. I guess it’s all good karma and giving back is essential. What you’re doing is awesome. Keep it up. :)

Great post and wonderful to see how you use SEO for social good. How many years have you been conducting SEO? Have you discovered that it is more difficult as time progresses or that more opportunities open themselves up.
